Records Unit
For a particular arrest report, booking record, or any releasable booking photograph, send a written request to VCSOrecords@vctx.org, fax it to 361-574-8077, or mail or deliver it to Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, Attn: Records Unit, 101 N. Glass St., Victoria, TX 77901. The VCSO explains that a phone call may clarify where to send a request, but a call is not itself a written public-information request.
VCSO processes requests in the order received and says a response may take up to 10 business days. It publishes no fixed booking-photo price. Charges for reproduction, labor, overhead, and materials may apply under Texas Government Code Sections 552.261 through 552.275, and the agency may provide a written estimate. If clarification is requested, respond in writing within 61 days to avoid withdrawal. An exception ruling can add up to 45 business days.
Choose the office by the question:
- For a current-custody question, begin with the official Victoria County Inmate Locator, then use the jail or main line if needed.
- For a specific county booking record or arrest report, use the written VCSO Records Unit route above. The home guide explains the record-request details.
- For a final case result, contact the appropriate court or clerk. A booking entry is not a final disposition.
- For a Victoria Police Department-created report, use the City of Victoria’s Records page or its police-report path. The records page lists public-information inquiries at 361-485-3700.
- For a person committed to Texas prison, use the official TDCJ Online Offender Search. TDCJ does not provide inmate photographs to the public.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the relevant federal Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Marshals Service, or ICE channel. County offices do not hold every federal record.
- For a warrant question, use the VCSO warrants line at 361-574-8036 or review the official steps on Most Wanted.
VCSO does not provide criminal-history or driving-record information. Direct statewide history questions to Texas DPS instead of asking the Sheriff’s Office for a general history search.
